Ridgewood was founded in early 2026 around a simple idea. In a world which is fast becoming automated and digitally driven, we wanted to offer something unique and handmade, something real. So, one sunny weekend, from our workshop in Shrewsbury, England, we sat down and started creating our signature plate racks.

Originally dubbed the “Plate Station” and then later the “Plate Station 2” (working titles we dropped for legal reasons) we knew instantly that we had come up with something special. A plate storage rack that was both solid and beautify proportioned, and that could also double up as a handy shelf.

This meant that our new plate rack could hold a range of kitchenware items and not just plates, serving as an attractive display and storage rack and a focal point at the heart of the kitchen.  What’s more, our new plate racks could easily be made to any width, meaning that we could offer different sizes and even custom measurement to fit any space.
